THE 2026 STAMINOGRO EDENVALE MARATHON RACE RULES
1. This race is held under the rules of WA, IAAF, ASA and CGA.
2. By entering the race each athlete accepts the responsibility to know and abide by
these rules.
3. Licenced athletes must wear club colours and their 2026 licence number, back and front of the upper garment together with the issued race number which must be worn on the front of the upper garment. Licenced athletes not wearing club colours may face disqualification.
4. Temporary licenced athletes to wear plain clothing / event shirt with the issued temporary licence on the back of the upper garment worn.
5. Athletes competing for category prizes must clearly display the correct size age category tags on the front and back of the upper garment worn.
6. International Athletes must provide a clearance letter (from their country of origin) to the event organisers and chief referee prior to the start of the event. Prizes will be withheld if this rule is not adhered to.
7. No blades, cycles or mechanically operated devices are allowed.
8. No animals or pets are allowed to participate.
9. The race organisers retains the right to refuse entry and eject persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol or who are disorderly, or who engage in inappropriate behaviour, vandalism or evade paying for admission or who transgress any and all of the event rules and /or instructions.
10. Littering is not allowed. Athletes are to dispose of any litter in appropriate bins. Athletes can be disqualified if they litter.
11. Race Routes: The 42 km, 10-Miler (16 km) and 5 km route are all new, officially approved and measured to the required standards.
12. Instructions from marshals, traffic officers and officials must be obeyed at all times.
13. Minimum ages on race day: 42 km – 20 years, 10-Miler (16 km) – 16 years and 5km – 5 years. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
14. No refund of race entry fees.
15. Walkers and wheelchair athletes are welcome.
16. Wheelchair athletes must make direct contact with the Race Office before the race for specific start instructions. Please email hello@edenvalemarathon.co.za
17. No earphones or headphones or other hearing devices may be used during
the event other than hearing aids. WARNING: Wearing earphones or headphones may result in disqualification.
18. Runners who are disqualified for whatever reason, will not be provided with a medal or race hand-outs.
19. Entries are limited to a total of 8 000 entries made up across all three disciplines.
20. Online entries will close on Saturday, 28 February 2026 or when the allocated category entries are sold out.
21. Peak Timing will send an email confirming your entry directly after registering and after payment has been received.
22. In the week prior to the event, you will receive a second email with all the relevant race details together with your race number. If you do not receive the second
email, please contact hello@edenvalemarathon.co.za or WhatsApp (076) 365 0083. Note: This number is not manned at all times and is a text only line. Do not leave this until the day before the event! It is your responsibility to contact the race organisers if you have not received your race number.
23. Objections / disputes must be logged within 30 minutes before and/ or after prize giving in writing to the chief referee, accompanied by R 500.00 which is refundable if the appeal is upheld.
RELEASE & WAIVER
All athletes participate at their own risk. I warrant that I am in good health, physically and medically fit and have sufficiently trained to participate in this endurance event.
I agree to comply with the rules, conditions and regulations of WA, IAAF, ASA & CGA, which include the payment of the entry fee.
If you are found to have cheated, or provided any incorrect or fraudulent information in your entry, or failed to complete the required fields, it will be rejected and your entry will not be accepted.
I hereby release and discharge the organizers of the 2026 StaminoGro Edenvale Marathon, the national, provincial and regional bodies, all sponsors, volunteer groups, medical personnel, and any and all local authorities, from any loss or damage, however caused, arising from my participation in the event, including pre-race and post-race activities. This waiver applies to my executors, my heirs, administrators, assigns and myself. I undertake not to exhibit or wear any advertising material or logos contrary to the rules of WA, IAAF, ASA & CGA.
I also grant my permission to the Organiser's or its agents, in terms of Section 51 of the Electronic Communications Transactions Act 25 of 2002, to use my name, race information and any photographs, video tapes, broadcast and/or telecast footage in which I may appear, for whatever use, at no charge.
