A Message from Edenvale Marathon
On behalf of the Edenvale Rand Road Warriors, we take this opportunity of thanking you for either considering entering our event or, to thank you for having already entered.
We, at the Edenvale Marathon, are both proud and extremely grateful to once again be in the fortunate position to host our event for yet another year.
We understand that the rising costs in hosting road races has unfortunately seen the cancellation and demise of events. The direct result is that it is no longer that straightforward or easy as a non-professional Club like ours to host an event such as the Edenvale Marathon, where budgets are so restricted.
Unfortunately, this means that entry fees need to be increased to accommodate the unavoidable costs of infrastructure and background services.
It does not end there, we are also very aware that the race calendar now offers a greater number of races for you to choose from, which also has an impact on the race organisers, as entry numbers decrease. There is a positive side to this “spoilt for choice” scenario as it means race organisers such as ourselves need to continuously improve on our offering and not become complacent and deliver a sub-standard event. At the Edenvale Marathon, we are constantly looking at ways to improve your race day experience and make it a memorable day, ensuring that you get what you expect. We also understand that we live in a real world and not a perfect world and that things can and do go wrong, that is just how life is.
Our primary goal is striving toward ensuring that our value exceeds our price!
If you will be qualifying at our event, we wish you the best of luck. If it is a long training run, you know exactly what to do and what is required of you.
If you are taking part in the 15K, running or walking, good luck and have fun!
Remember, “Effort = Results”
Thank you for your support, it is greatly appreciated and very valued. We hope to welcome you back in 2026 where a brand new route will be launched across both the 42K and the15K.
Keep safe on the roads,
Robin Hide
Race Director
